Maxtor NIKE EAH41MFZ Data Recovery Details

The sytem boots in Unix then loads Solaris 2.5.1 Half way through the boot process it hangs. I can't get it to boot from floppy or CD. It starts up and initialises memory and goes to boot then crashes. There is critical data on the system as this is used as a server machine.

My workstation is using NTFS, Outlook 2003 with Exchange 2003 server.

As my Outlook runs into problem, I tried to copy the outlook.ost file to another location for repair, but I keep getting CRC errors and the file was not copied.
I also tried to use winrar to compress it and it runs into the same CRC error.

Maxtor drives are also well-known for their line of "musical" hard disks that have a very high rate of bearing (motor) failure. When this occurs the spindle gets stuck and motor voice coil starts producing a mobile phone type melody. I have an external freecom drive which i back up important data on, when i plug it into my usb drive it will allocate a drive letter but when i try to explore it i get an error message sayinf 'page operation'. The last typical Maxtor hard drive issue applies also to all other hard drive makes and models, the problem is called bad sectors. After some period of time the platters were the data is located starts to degrade and bad sectors appear.
